SARATOGA, Calif. (AP) - Authorities say a woman was hospitalized and her two Labradors were euthanized after a truck ran them over as they walked in the Northern California city of Saratoga.

The San Jose Mercury News reports (https://bayareane.ws/27WSZD5) Ana Palmer was walking her dogs Friday when a Ford truck hit them, dragging the dogs under the vehicle. The dogs, Sadie and Chudley, were so severely injured a nearby veterinarian had to put them down.

The Santa Clara County Sheriff’s department says Palmer was taken to a hospital with moderate injuries.

It says the suspect’s vehicle is a long bed Ford truck with a camper shell, which is a different color from the truck.

Authorities say the suspect fled the scene and are encouraging anyone who spots the truck to call them.
