NEWARK, N.J. (AP) - Three men have admitted their roles in the shooting death of a drug dealer whose territory they wanted to take over.

Essex County prosecutors say they reached plea deals with Ali Bass, Arsenio Payton and Tyree Miller just as their trial was set to begin in the death of Quawan Robinson, who was killed in December 2009.

Prosecutors say the three men robbed a 15-year-old boy who sold drugs for Robinson. They then held the teen at gunpoint and told him to call out to Robinson.

When Robinson arrived, Payton fatally shot the 31-year-old Newark man in what prosecutors said was a “cold, calculated business decision.”

All three men are scheduled to be sentenced in July.
