VIENNA, N.Y. (AP) - Sheriff’s investigators are looking for a driver who they say struck a 9-year-old boy riding his bicycle in upstate New York and then took off.

The Oneida County Sheriff’s Office says it happened around 3 p.m. Saturday.

They say a blue-colored minivan struck the boy as he was riding his bike in the Town of Vienna. Investigators say the driver of the minivan did not stop and fled the scene “at a high rate of speed.”

Investigators say the boy was rushed to a local hospital and was in stable condition later Saturday.
