ABSECON, N.J. (AP) - Authorities are looking for a hit-and-run driver who they say struck and killed a pedestrian in southern New Jersey.

Atlantic County prosecutors say 26-year-old Kyle Marcy was struck around 4:10 a.m. Saturday in the area of Routes 30 and 9 in Absecon. They say the Galloway Township man had just got out of another vehicle shortly before he was struck by a dark-colored 2012 Honda Civic that stopped briefly before the driver left the scene.

Marcy was pronounced dead a short time later at a hospital.

No other injuries were reported.

The accident remains under investigation by Absecon police and the prosecutor’s office.

This story has been corrected to show that the last name of the victim is Marcy, not Macy.
