BROOKLYN, Mich. (AP) - A farmers market at the Walker Tavern Historic Site in southern Michigan is opening for the season.

The market in Cambridge Junction Historic State Park in Brooklyn makes its 2016 debut Sunday. It runs every Sunday through Oct. 9 except June 12 and Aug. 28.

More than 60 vendors and growers are participating. Opening weekend highlights Walker Tavern and the Hewitt House Visitors Center.

Special events are scheduled on several other market days, including Raptor Day that offers market visitors a close-up look at hawks on June 5 and Sept. 11. The Walker on Wheels Car Show returns July 31 featuring vintage cars and trucks on display.

Visitors can bring a dog dressed in a historical costume Sept. 25 and win a prize during a dog show.
