ATLANTA (AP) - Atlanta police say a man has been killed in a motorcycle crash while riding with 50 others in formation.

Police spokesman officer Lukasz Sajdak tells local news media that the accident occurred about 11:30 a.m. Saturday when an escort was passing the formation in the right lane when it struck another motorcycle that had drifted into the right lane. Sajdak says the collision caused more collisions and a man was ejected from his bike then landed in the roadway on Moreland Avenue.

Sajdak says the man was pronounced dead shortly before noon. The name of the man has not been released.

Two other riders were taken to the hospital with non-life-threatening injuries. A third complained about arm pain, but didn’t go to the hospital.
