WATERBURY, Conn. (AP) - A pedestrian has been struck and killed on Route 8 in Waterbury.

Connecticut state police say they responded to the crash just after 2 a.m. Saturday.

Police say a vehicle was exiting the highway when it struck the pedestrian.

The victim was pronounced dead at the scene.

Police say the driver of the vehicle stayed at the scene of the crash.

Police haven’t released the identities of the victim or the driver.

The investigation is ongoing.
