CRAWFORD NOTCH, N.H. (AP) - New Hampshire Fish and Game officials say a 66-year-old Maine hiker was rescued after injuring her ankle on the Webster Cliff Trail in Beans Grant - a section of the White Mountain National Forest.

Authorities say Kristine Larson of Bridgeton, Maine, was injured at about 5 p.m. Friday when she slipped and hurt her ankle.

Rescuers from multiple organizations responded with a litter and carried her down the rough and rocky trail, nearly three miles to the trailhead. They arrived at the trailhead just before midnight.

Larson was transported to Memorial Hospital in North Conway for treatment.
