ATHELSTANE, Wis. (AP) - Authorities say a 90-year-old Monroe man was killed in an all-terrain vehicle accident on private property north of Newton Lake.

The Marinette County Sheriff’s Office says James Bosanny was driving the ATV with his 64-year-old son James Bosanny Jr. on board about 3:50 p.m. Saturday when he lost control on a small hill after striking a plow before the vehicle accelerated and struck a tree.

The elder Bosanny died at the scene. His son was hospitalized with serious injuries.

The sheriff’s office says neither was wearing a helmet.

The crash remains under investigation.
