CHARLESTON, W.Va. (AP) - Charleston police are investigating the discovery of a decomposed body inside a vacant home.

Media outlets report the body of a white male was found Saturday on the city’s west side.

Neighbors called police to complain about a smell coming from the home. Police Lt. Steve Cooper says it appears that the body had been there for “quite some time.”

The body has yet to be identified. Cooper says police are considering the death suspicious.
