MINOT, N.D. (AP) - A large construction crane that has been a part of the downtown Minot skyline for some time has finally been removed.

KXMC television reports (https://bit.ly/1Z464V2 ) that the crane’s removal means that the Central Parking Ramp will be available to provide 224 additional parking spaces for downtown visitors.

Engineers used another crane to assist in the two-day piece-by-piece deconstruction of the existing implement.

City Public Information Officer Derek Hackett says that the crane removal signifies how much progress everyone has made over the past three years. Work will continue on both ramps as crews finish the vertical work with the addition of apartments and retail space.
