PITTSBURGH (AP) - Authorities in western Pennsylvania have identified a couple found dead in a Pittsburgh home in an apparent murder-suicide.

Emergency officials in Allegheny County said someone called at about 1 p.m. Saturday and said they would find two dead people in a home in the Bloomfield neighborhood. Officers and paramedics dispatched to the home found a husband and wife deceased in an upstairs bedroom.

The county medical examiner’s office identified them as 79-year-old Louis Alviani and 70-year-old Delores Alviani. Officials said autopsies were planned.

Neighbors said they were shocked because the two had been private but friendly. Sixty-eight-year-old Terry Hudon told the Pittsburgh Tribune-Review that both had been outside and appeared normal Saturday morning, and the man even offered to help a neighbor carry groceries.
