ALBUQUERQUE, N.M. (AP) - Albuquerque police say a man was critically wounded by officers responding to a domestic violence call.

Police spokesman Fred Duran says the incident occurred late Saturday in the area of Goodrich Avenue and Montgomery.

Duran says officers who arrived at the scene were confronted by a male subject who was considered a threat.

The man was shot and transported to a hospital.

He remains in critical condition.

Police did not say how many officers fired their weapons or the nature of the threat against them.

No officers were injured.
