MARTINSBURG, W.Va. (AP) - Police have charged a Martinsburg woman in the fatal shooting of her boyfriend.

The Berkeley County Sheriff’s Office charged 31-year-old Jennifer Pendias with murder Saturday.

Sheriff Kenny Lemaster says in a news release that the body of 35-year-old Harald Martinson was found in the bathroom of her home with a single gunshot wound. He was pronounced dead at Berkeley Medical Center.

Media outlets report Pendias told police the shooting that occurred during an argument was an accident.

Pendias was being held Sunday in the Eastern Regional Jail pending arraignment. Jail records didn’t indicate whether she has an attorney.
