STONEVILLE, N.C. (AP) - Investigators say a man has been killed during a shooting involving two officers at a North Carolina traffic stop.

The State Bureau of Investigation told media outlets two deputies were investigating a car parked behind a business when the vehicle drove away.

Authorities say the deputies tried to pull the car over for several miles before it stopped.

Investigators say a man inside the car then started to fight with the officers and was shot around 2 a.m. Sunday near Stoneville, about 40 miles north of Greensboro.

The SBI says one deputy was taken to the hospital with minor injuries.

Authorities say a woman and two children were in the car, but were not hurt.

Neither the names nor the races of the parties involved have been released.
