WAHPETON, N.D. (AP) - A marketing campaign for Wahpeton has gotten an update.

The Wahpeton Daily News (https://bit.ly/25lhFCX ) reports the campaign was made in partnership between the state Department of Commerce and the city. The marketing campaign called “Wahpeton Welcome!” was created by Absolute Marketing.

Economic Development Director Jane Priebe on May 18 told the Community Development Corporation that the campaign has been updated recently.

Priebe said she will deliver information packets “to the various human resources directors in town” to have something for their interviews with prospective employees. Inside information packets are cards regarding jobs, features such as Chahinkapa Zoo, education, medical facilities and opportunities for housing.

There are more packets in Wahpeton City Hall that can be obtained through the Economic Development office. The marketing campaign also has a website.

The Community Development Corporation approved during the meeting the sending of a proposals request regarding doing qualitative market research through the use of focus groups. Priebe said the request was sent to eight possible facilitators on May 19.

The request says that there shall be submission of fee proposals with components that include the work’s estimated total cost, a broken down fees schedule according to work task, and project personnel’s hourly rates.

“Selection will be based on the firm’s previous performance with similar projects; qualifications of key personnel; understanding of the project; project management capabilities; and ability to complete the work in a timely manner,” the request says.
