DOVER, Del. (AP) - The state House is set to vote on a bill aimed at encouraging local governments in Delaware to create more transit-friendly communities.

The legislation cleared the Senate last month and is scheduled for a House vote Tuesday. It calls for the establishment of Complete Community Enterprise Districts offering a mix of residential, recreational, retail and business uses in the same community.

The districts are intended to promote economic development, increase use of public transportation, and encourage people to bike and walk more while reducing the need for long commutes.
