HATTIESBURG, Miss. (AP) - The body of a 15-year-old has been recovered from the Leaf River.

Glen Moore, the Forrest County Emergency Management Agency director, tells the Hattiesburg American (https://hatne.ws/1OYoQaQ ) that the teenager disappeared while swimming near the Evelyn Gandy Parkway on Sunday afternoon.

The Forrest County Sheriff’s Department dive team responded and was assisted by Petal and Hattiesburg fire departments.

Moore said the teen’s body was recovered around 10 p.m. by members of the dive team. The teen’s name has not been released.
