FORT MYERS, Fla. (AP) - The Florida Department of Law Enforcement has issued a missing child alert for a 9-year-old Fort Myers girl.

According to a statement on the Lee County Sheriff’s Office website, Diana Alvares was last seen at her home early Sunday.

The girl’s mother tells the News-Press (https://newspr.es/20QwL0f ) that Diana wasn’t in her bed in their mobile home later that morning.

The FDLE alert says the girl has black hair and brown eyes, she was last seen wearing a short-sleeve shirt and shorts and she may have a green blanket with her.

The sheriff’s office statement says Diana’s disappearance “does not meet the criteria” for an Amber Alert.

The News-Press reports (https://newspr.es/1OX1NNu ) that Diana’s school, San Carlos Elementary, issued a statement asking parents to call authorities if they have any information.
