BALTIMORE (AP) - Police in Baltimore are looking for a man who sexually assaulted a 71-year-old woman and then stole her car and got into a serious crash.

Baltimore police said in a statement that the suspect broke into a home in the 5300 block of Beaufort Avenue early Saturday. Police say a 71-year-old woman woke up when she felt someone touching her and that the suspect, who was armed with a knife, demanded money. Police say the woman got cash out of her purse and the suspect took the cash, jewelry and other property, then sexually assaulted the victim.

Police say the suspect took the victim’s car keys and fled in her car but got into a major accident shortly after. Police say the suspect left the scene before police could arrive.
