DURANT, Okla. (AP) - A missing Durant woman has been found dead in the wreckage of her car in Blue River in southern Oklahoma.

The Oklahoma Highway Patrol says the body of 61-year-old Phyliss Harris was found partially ejected from the car that was on its top in the river.

Her body was sent to the state medical examiner’s office to determine the cause of death.

An OHP report says it appears the car went off the roadway and down an embankment into the river on May 23, the day she was last seen alive.

Harris was reported missing by her daughter on Saturday.
