LEXINGTON, Ky. (AP) - The Fayette County coroner’s office says a pedestrian on Interstate 64 has died after being hit by multiple vehicles.

WKYT-TV (https://bit.ly/1TSrbK5 ) reports the coroner’s office said four different vehicles, including a box truck, are thought to have hit the man just before 5 a.m. Monday in the eastbound lanes near the Clark County line.

The man was pronounced dead at the scene. The coroner’s office said one of the drivers that hit the man was a pregnant woman, and she was taken to a hospital to be examined.

A later news release from the coroner’s office identified the man as 66-year-old Stanley C. Willoughby of Clark County.

The crash shut down all eastbound lanes for nearly two hours.

Authorities don’t know why the man was on the interstate.
