NOVATO, Calif. (AP) - Authorities have arrested a third man involved in the slaying of a Northern California high school student and the wounding of another.

The Marin Independent Journal (https://bayareane.ws/1OZ9UsW) reports 20-year-old Elmer Machado was arrested Sunday and booked into Marin County jail for being an accessory in last week’s killing of 17-year-old Edwin Ramirez and the wounding of another high school student.

Marin County Sheriff deputies arrested two 17-year-old suspects during raids on a pair of homes on Thursday. Both were enrolled at Novato High School, just like the victims.

Investigators are looking for another Novato High student who was seen leaving the scene of Wednesday’s violence and also is considered a suspect.

Lt. Jamie Scardina says Machado Rivera was arrested after investigators developed information that he was an accessory after the killing.
