ROTTERDAM, N.Y. (AP) - Police in an Albany-area town are looking for the driver of a vehicle that fatally struck a pedestrian and fled the scene.

Officers in the Schenectady town of Rotterdam say they responded shortly before midnight Sunday to a report of a collision involving a vehicle and a person crossing the intersection of Hamburg and Schermerhorn streets.

Police say a man had been struck by a vehicle that didn’t stop. He was pronounced dead at the scene.

The man’s name is being withheld pending notification of his family.

Police say the vehicle being sought may be a white sport utility vehicle, possibly a Honda Pilot or CRV, with damage to the front passenger side and a shattered windshield.
