ALBUQUERQUE, N.M. (AP) - Authorities are looking for a driver who struck and injured a boy crossing a street in Albuquerque and then fled the scene.

The Albuquerque Journal reports (https://bit.ly/25vjtwF ) that Officer Simon Drobik says the 4-year-old victim was left in critical condition after the Saturday night incident. He was reported in stable condition on Sunday.

Police say the boy and his grandmother had been walking across the street when he was struck by a tan car, which could have been a Toyota Corolla or Camry. The two had not been using a crosswalk at the time of the incident.

Drobik says the driver could face felony charges for leaving the scene of an accident.
