TUCSON, Ariz. (AP) - A team of American Red Cross workers from southern Arizona is headed to Texas to help care for people displaced by severe weather and flooding.

The Southern Arizona chapter in Tucson announced Monday it is sending an emergency response vehicle to Houston along with two drivers. The team is part of a Red Cross response that will include shelter support, mobile kitchens and supply distribution.

Part of Texas have been inundated with flooding that has left at least six people dead. Up to 10 inches of rain fell near San Antonio through Sunday and led to numerous rescues and widespread damage. Similar flooding has occurred elsewhere in central Texas.
