MINOT, N.D. (AP) - A late-summer trial has been scheduled for a Minot man accused of cruelly killing a dog.

Thirty-year-old James Music alleged taped shut the dog’s mouth, beat the animal, shot it in the head and threw the carcass in a garbage bin last fall.

The Minot Daily News reports (https://bit.ly/1Z3tgTA ) that Music has been scheduled to stand trial on a felony animal cruelty charge Sept. 1-2. He could face up to five years in prison if convicted.
