MIAMI (AP) - Two Miami-Dade police officers fired at a sports utility vehicle during a traffic stop on Memorial Day.

The male driver of the SUV sped away after the Monday afternoon incident but police caught up with the vehicle at a nearby apartment complex. There were three female passengers, including one juvenile.

Detective Marjorie Eloi said in a news release that police arrested two people. Two others, including a young girl, showed up at area hospitals with injuries that weren’t considered life-threatening.

No further details were immediately available.

Eloi says investigators are still trying to determine the exact order of events. She says the Florida Department of Law Enforcement is also investigating.

The officers are both white. All occupants of the SUV are black.
