LITTLETON, N.H. (AP) - Two men were being held without bail Tuesday in connection with the shooting death of a man in Littleton.

Damion Yeargle, 21, was arrested on a first-degree murder charge in the death Friday of 22-year-old Robert Pierog, who was found outside his apartment building. Authorities say Yeargle, of Littleton, shot Pierog multiple times with a rifle.

Jefferson resident Quade Kadle, 18, was charged with being an accomplice to first-degree murder.

Both were arraigned Tuesday. Messages were left with their lawyers seeking comment.

“This was an incredibly unfortunate and tragic incident that in no way, shape, or form should have happened,” prosecutor Geoffrey Ward said, according to WMUR-TV (https://bit.ly/1WXav6m).

Police accused Yeargle and Kadle of planning the crime, saying they bought bandanas to use as masks and latex rubber gloves.

Both are scheduled for a hearing June 9.
