BOUTTE, La. (AP) - Authorities are investigating what caused a fire at a well-known seafood restaurant in Boutte.

Local media outlets report Zydeco’s Cajun caught fire Monday afternoon. Fire officials say the restaurant was closed for Memorial Day when the blaze started around 4 p.m.

Luling Volunteer Fire Department Chief Craig Petit says firefighters who arrived at the scene saw the building was full of smoke.

Multiple fire crews were dispatched to the fire and remained on the scene until late into the evening.

Petit says firefighters had a hard time reaching the actual fire due to the establishment’s double roofs.

WDSU-TV reports (https://bit.ly/1RHPi8j ) the building suffered extensive damage.
