SCRANTON, Pa. (AP) - Police have jailed a 16-year-old on adult charges in the fatal stabbing of an 18-year-old woman fueled by a Facebook feud.

Scranton police say Cathleen Boyer stabbed Kayla Van Wert when they met in an alley to settle the online feud over the father of Van Wert’s 1-year-old daughter. That man isn’t charged, and is in the Lackawanna County jail on a weapons charge.

A friend of Van Wert’s, Roxanne Draper, tells police Van Wert handed her a smartphone while she went outside to settle the beef on Sunday. Police say Boyer later posted on Facebook that she planned to surrender but had “no remorse.”

Boyer is jailed on charges including aggravated assault, but prosecutors plan to add a homicide charge now that Van Wert has died.

Boyer doesn’t have an attorney.
