AUGUSTA, Maine (AP) - Maine’s annual spring turkey hunt is entering its final days of 2016.

The spring season for wild turkeys takes place all over the state and is limited to bearded birds. It ends for the year on June 4.

Hunters are limited to two turkeys in most of the state, except for seven wildlife management districts in far northern Maine. People can only take one turkey per year from that part of the state.

State wildlife managers limit hunters’ ability to hunt for turkeys in northern Maine for most of the season. However, the final week of the season is open to all hunters.

There will also be a fall season in September and October.
