BAY ST. LOUIS, Miss. (AP) - A man wanted for a 2015 kidnapping, assault, and burglary in Bay St. Louis has been arrested.

The Sea Coast Echo reports (https://bit.ly/1Xb07Zl) Hancock County Jail records show 33-year-old Matthew Thomas Cothard was arrested last week on outstanding warrants for aggravated assault, kidnapping, and burglary.

Cothard was originally arrested in February 2015, after he allegedly held his former girlfriend hostage for nearly 24 hours.

Police said at the time Cothard went to his ex-girlfriend’s home kicked in the front door, and then held the woman hostage.

Online jail records do not list an attorney for Cothard.
