NORWOOD, Ohio (AP) - A motorcycle club is planning to hold a memorial ride next week for a Cincinnati police officer shot to death last year while responding to reports of a man acting belligerently with a gun.

The Cincinnati Enquirer reports (https://cin.ci/25vCETD ) the Clermont County chapter of the Iron Shields Law Enforcement Motorcycle Club is planning its inaugural Memorial Ride for 27-year veteran Officer Sonny Kim on June 11.

The group consists mostly of law enforcement officers.

The ride will begin at noon in Norwood and will visit the Gate of Heaven Cemetery in Cincinnati where Kim is buried.

Prosecutors say 21-year-old Trepierre Hummons shot Kim three times in June 2015 before Hummons was fatally shot by police.

The group says proceeds from the 46-mile ride will benefit Kim’s family.
