PHILADELPHIA (AP) - Philadelphia police have been searching for a naked man who ran away after allegedly sexually assaulting a 13-year-old girl and beating her mother.

Police say the incident happened in the city’s Frankford neighborhood about 12:30 a.m. Tuesday.

Police haven’t released the suspect’s name but say he’s apparently related to the victims.

Police say the teen told them she’d been sexually assaulted in the home’s basement. They also found the girl’s mother badly beaten in the head and face and missing several teeth.

Police had to use a SWAT team to enter the house and the woman was taken to a hospital in critical condition.

The girl told police she was able to run from the home and summon a neighbor who called 911.

Police say they know the suspect’s name.
