NEWARK, N.J. (AP) - Authorities say a gas station owner has been shot and killed in Newark.

Newark Public Safety Director Anthony Ambrose said that police are investigating the shooting that left 47-year-old Davinder Singh dead.

The shooting happened around 4:30 p.m. Monday at the Power Gas Station on West Market Street.

Singh was pronounced dead shortly after the shooting at University Hospital.

Ambrose says an investigation is ongoing.
