HOOKSETT, N.H. (AP) - Police have arrested a 51-year-old New Hampshire woman after they say she assaulted an officer during a traffic stop in Hooksett.

The incident began when a vehicle that Winona Sutherland-White was traveling in was pulled over on West Alice Avenue around 12:45 a.m. Monday. While an officer was speaking with the driver, police say Sutherland-White exited the vehicle numerous times and interfered with him.

Police say another officer arrived to assist and Sutherland-White was taken into custody after she punched one of the men. She also allegedly kicked one officer in the chest as she was placed into the backseat of a cruiser.

Sutherland-White was charged with resisting arrest and two counts of simple assault on a police officer. It’s unknown if she has an attorney who can comment.
