MANCHESTER, N.H. (AP) - Manchester police officers no longer have the chance to become reality TV stars after police officials halted the shooting of “COPS” in the New Hampshire city.

Chief Nick Willard says he decided to pull the plug on the shoot because the show may cast Manchester in a negative light.

Willard says he initially jumped at the opportunity to have “COPS” profile his officers due to their professionalism, but he changed his mind following concerns from business owners and city officials.

The documentary show has shadowed officers in 140 cities in the United States. One of Willard’s previous departments was featured on the program, which has aired since 1989.

Although filming began last week, none of the footage shot in Manchester will air.

Langley Productions officials haven’t returned requests for comment.
