PHILADELPHIA (AP) - Pope Francis has named a Philadelphia pastor an auxiliary bishop in the archdiocese.

Philly.com (https://bit.ly/1VseE12 ) reports a news conference was scheduled Tuesday to detail the appointment of the Rev. Monsignor Edward Deliman.

The 69-year-old priest has been pastor of St. Charles Borromeo Church in the city.

As an auxiliary bishop, he’ll help Archbishop Charles Chaput (SHAP’-yoo).
