PLEASANT GROVE, Utah (AP) - A runaway truck trailer that dangled by one wheel off a bridge above a Utah freeway Tuesday was safely removed by work crews about an hour after the crash.

Utah Highway Patrol Sgt. Todd Royce said crews were able to pull the trailer back up to a roadway above Interstate 15, where the trailer briefly loomed over rush-hour traffic in Pleasant Grove, about 30 miles south of Salt Lake City.

No one was injured in the crash, which only involved the trailer.

It appeared the trailer became dislodged from a dump truck Tuesday afternoon, crashed into a barrier on the overpass and hooked onto a low wall that kept it from sliding down an embankment onto southbound lanes of the highway, Royce said.

Roads closed in the area, including three lanes of I-15, were reopened and backups were clearing as the heaviest part of the evening commute was getting underway, Utah Department of Transportation spokeswoman Lisa Miller said.

Royce did not have details about why the trailer dislodged or which company owned it. The driver could be cited for equipment violations once safety officials finish investigating why the trailer cut loose, he said.
