NEWTON, N.C. (AP) - A woman has been airlifted to a hospital after the boat she was on caught fire in a Charlotte-area lake.

North Carolina Wildlife Resources Commission Officer Matthew Lee tells news outlets that the woman and two other people were injured Monday evening on Lake Norman in Catawba County when the boat went up in flames.

Officials did not immediately release the identity or the condition of the woman who was airlifted for treatment.

Lee says the cause of the fire is under investigation.
