COUNCIL BLUFFS, Iowa (AP) - A 65-year-old pedestrian has died after being struck by a car in Council Bluffs.

The Daily Nonpareil (https://bit.ly/1W8iFbv ) reports that police found Clifford Guild unresponsive Tuesday morning after receiving a report of a car hitting a pedestrian on Benson Street and Avenue G.

Council Bluffs police say Guild, of Council Bluffs, was transported to an Omaha hospital, where he died overnight.

Authorities say Guild may have crossed the street in front of a vehicle, which remained at the site after the crash. Police don’t believe alcohol or fast speeds were factors in the collision.
