WILMINGTON, Del. (AP) - A man from Bear has pleaded guilty to obtaining heroin and meth from Mexico and selling the drugs in Delaware.

The U.S. Attorney’s Office said in a news release that 49-year-old Ariel Vergara entered the plea Tuesday in federal court in Wilmington.

Prosecutors say Vergara is one of nine people indicted as a result of “Operation Bear Trap,” a long-term Drug Enforcement Administration investigation.

Vergara faces a mandatory minimum of five years in prison at sentencing Aug. 17.
