SEAL BEACH, Calif. (AP) - Police say a homeless man is a person of interest in an arson fire that killed a former teacher and his dog in a Seal Beach apartment.

Authorities on Wednesday identified the man as 37-year-old Eric Jesus Andrade. But they’re not releasing a motive for setting the blaze.

Sixty-seven-year-old John Donnelly and his Jack Russell terrier, Eddie, died in the fire that erupted shortly after midnight last Saturday.

Police say an incendiary device ignited material outside the duplex. Donnelly and his dog were found dead in a second-floor unit.
