HAZEL PARK, Mich. (AP) - Authorities say the body of a missing 21-year-old woman has been found wrapped and hidden in the attic of a suburban Detroit home.

Hazel Park police say they have arrested a 23-year-old man who lived in the home where Jessica White’s body was found Tuesday night. He’s described as a friend of hers.

Police Chief Martin Barner says his department wants prosecutors to authorize murder charges against the man, who surrendered to police in Troy. Barner adds the man “implicated himself in the death” during an interview with investigators.

An autopsy has been scheduled for Wednesday.

Friends and relatives had been searching for White for more than a week. White was last seen April 23 in Troy and texted her mother she was at a friend’s house in Hazel Park.
