LAS VEGAS (AP) - A 32-year-old man who was extradited from Mississippi to Las Vegas is due for a preliminary hearing Thursday in a 2013 double murder case that could get him the death penalty.

Christopher Charles Green is accused of shooting 29-year-old Teray Shaney Lyles and 28-year-old Michael Dunbar in the courtyard of an apartment complex east of downtown Las Vegas.

Both men died of multiple gunshot wounds.

Green was transported in custody to Las Vegas in March from Mississippi’s Yazoo County Regional Correctional Facility, where he’d been held since 2014 on an aggravated assault conviction.

Las Vegas police say several witnesses identified Green as the gunman, and a partial fingerprint linked him to a 9mm rifle found in some bushes near where an argument erupted and shots were fired.
