NEW ORLEANS (AP) - The 2016 R+L Carriers New Orleans Bowl will be held on Saturday, Dec. 17, at 8 p.m. in the Mercedes-Benz Superdome.

The postseason game, to be broadcast on ESPN and ESPN Radio, will feature a matchup between teams from the Sun Belt Conference and Conference USA. The New Orleans Bowl and Conference USA have a long-standing relationship that began in 2002.

The bowl’s executive director, Billy Ferrante, says bowl leaders look forward to continuing what has become a New Orleans tradition over 16 years.

Leaders say the bowl game and affiliated events benefit the city of New Orleans, generating an estimated economic impact of more than $20 million annually.
