TEAGUE, Texas (AP) - A three-vehicle traffic accident in Central Texas has left four people dead and another person hurt.

The Texas Department of Public Safety says the wreck happened late Wednesday afternoon on U.S. 84 just east of Teague (teeg).

DPS says 76-year-old Linda Nicholas Huffman, 78-year-old Janice Sartor Turner and 30-year-old Michael James Jackson died at the scene. DPS says 80-year-old Martha Brown Turner died at a hospital.

Authorities say 25-year-old Joshua Bradley Thompson was treated and released from a hospital.

DPS says Jackson was driving an eastbound car that hit an oncoming SUV driven by Huffman. The Turners were passengers in the SUV.

A pickup truck driven by Thompson then hit debris in the roadway.

All four people who died were from Teague, located about 50 miles east of Waco.
