ANNAPOLIS, Md. (AP) - Police in Annapolis are launching a new program to combat drunk driving.

The first event of the “Know Your Limit” program is scheduled for Thursday, which is Cinco de Mayo. Police say officers will be located near the Annapolis Market House to offer free breathalyzer tests and distribute literature about drunk driving.

The police department says drivers can show signs of impairment even when they are under the legal level limit for blood alcohol content.

The Annapolis police department says it will have additional officers looking for drunk driving Thursday. Police in Annapolis say the city had 48 crashes last year where alcohol was a factor.
