CODY, Wyo. (AP) - A teen who was struck in the head after an errant throw at a shot-put event in Meeteetse remains hospitalized.

The Cody Enterprise reports (https://bit.ly/1Nknpbo ) that Leo Horsen had suffered a fractured skull and injured an eye socket in the Monday incident. His mother, Christine Horsen, said Wednesday that he has been intubated and is expected to remain in an induced coma for another two days.

The seventh-grader had been helping measure distances in the shot-put event when he was hit while competitors were warming up with practice throws.

He was knocked unconscious and flown to St. Vincent Healthcare in Billings, Montana, where he remains a patient.
